sorry for the translation words to words

I'm from Quebec so I speak French and I'm bad at English

I want or rather I will participate in anthrocon 2018 for my first convention

I will be accompanied by a person who gets a bit of English but is not bilingual

I would like to know if there are participants or volunteers who speak french and even find other quebecois

who participate in 2018 because I do not know anyone who participates and therefore I am alone in my hole where I live

to be interested in this wonderful world of furrys

which means that I am looking for friends or support to participate even if I do not speak a single English word Smiling

thanks for your understanding

I am sorry this is not in French. I hope you can translate this

Anthrocon is a convention held entirely in English. There are plenty of indivuals who probably can speak French attending the convention.I`m sure theres a few people attending even from France each year. But if you can not read or speak English, it would be wise to get a french friend or french speaking friend to hang out with you arranged ahead of time.

Hi! Sadly it's the case where almost no one in Pittsburgh will know another language. :(  I had the same problem when I went to Berlin, without speaking German.  But the most important thing is that you'll go with someone else.  Even if you feel the distance created by the language barrier, you'll at least have someone else.

You could also look for forums or groups or Face or Telegram for bilingual furries in Montreal or in Ottawa, and ask if there's someone who'll be going to Anthrocon - but they will want to see their friends, so they won't always be available during the trip.

Another idea - if you have a mobile phone, maybe there's an app that could translate speech or text?

really? I went to berlin in 2014 for EF  and I met almost no one who didnt speak English. like literally the only person I met was a Polish cab driver who knew english a tiny bit as a 3rd language after polish and german. Im sure if you go further away from the tourist areas theres less english speakers. But its a common 2nd language around the world  especially in europe.
