I'm going to be getting to Pittsburgh on July 4th. I was wondering if Pittsburgh does fire works for the fourth of July. If so, where do they do them at? And, where is the best place to watch them at?

A few years old, but city fireworks diplays don't change locations often...

the tldr read version is they are held right in the river at the point of the 3 rivers merging.usually a little bit down the ohio river. You can see it naywhere downtown.the best places might be on the bridges, on top of any tall building (like the top of the convention center when its allowed, like when we are currently renting it) and just anywhere theres a clear view like along the rivers. there are many other nearby communities that have fireworks celebrations going on as well.you can see little hints of them going off if you are on the roof of the convention center. They act as small appitizers while waiting for the main course.

Just want to put a note here for people who will be in town for the fireworks on Wednesday.  While we do have the convention center for setup on Wednesday our contracts do not allow for attendees to be entering the convention center on that day unless they are actively volunteering for setup.  This means that the DLCC will be off limits for viewing fireworks on the 4th.

The place with the "large fountain" is Point State Park, where all three rivers meet.  It's apparently up close and personal to the fireworks, but it's very popular (read crowded).

anywhere in the downtown area that doesnt have a building in your way or on the north shore or on the south shore or on mount washington will give you a great view of the fireworks.basically anywhere close to the river
