It only took close to a decade to write and see it published, but as of today (October 10) my book Furry Nation: The True Story of America’s Most Misunderstood Subculture is on sale.

Other than Rodriguez’s Fursonas documentary there haven’t been any other efforts from within the fandom to explain ourselves to the rest of the world. I’ve been a fur since 1988 (when Furry was in its infancy) and a published writer even longer; I wanted to tell “our side of the story” and I think/hope I did a good job of it. You can read a few excerpts on the book’s website, www.furrynation.com and judge for yourself.

I wanted FN to be released by a mainstream publishing company so that readers outside the fandom as well as furs would see it.  I’m not sure if it made it into the bookstores, but FN can be ordered online from Amazon, Barnes&Noble or Powells in Portland OR. If you buy it via the links to those stores at www.furrynation.com/buy-the-book and forward your purchase confirmation to me at joe[at]furrynation [dot]com, I can thank you with a copy of Komos & Goldie issue number one, a comic created by myself and Britfur “Desiring Change.” (Please include an age statement since the book is “Adults Only.” (No sex, but lots of double entendres and a naked golden lady.)) You can see its cover at www.furaffinity.net/full/24902029/

Thanx much; hope to see you at Anthrocon.
