So lately, I've been considering doing other game shows at Anthrocon. Right now, I'm doing the Furry Feud and now I'm considering bringing Password and The Chase to AC in the future. Out of curiousity, what game shows would all of you like to see me do?

Someone suggested Let's Make A Deal and Newlywed Game, but I have no idea how they would work.

I saw somewhere on the forums that someone suggested Baggage; for the record, that will never happen... ever, so don't even ask me about possibly doing it because that'll be impossible.

Wheel of Fortune was another, but again, not sure how that would work.

Any other suggestions?

Match Game! Gotta make it 18+ though, it's not the same if you have to keep it clean.

If I remember correctly, there already is, or at least there has been, a Match Game type panel at Anthrocon. I can't remember off the top of my head what they called it, though.

In response to Mekali, for some of the games, such as Newlywed Game and Wheel of Fortune, I could see those working, it would just take a fair amount of setting up. Newlywed Game would probably require pairs of friends who know each other pretty well, and one would just have to leave the room, possibly with an escort, during part of the questioning. Wheel of Fortune would also be doable, but harder, as that would either require an actual wheel, or a computerized wheel for spinning.

For other possible games, $100,000 Pyramid could potentially be an option. Could probably get in a lot of rounds with that, as it seems to be a faster paced game, and with the furry side, there would probably be a lot of categories.

You will have to wait until next year.  We are finalizing the schedule now and not taking any additional panel suggestions.

These are just ideas for future cons; in no way they'd happen this year.

Ditto Thorfax with regard to Pyramid. (Throwaway line: “This is the $10,000 Furpile!”) That and Password (especially the Plus/Super format) have the potential for lots of game material.

BTW, at past ACs their Anthropoly game has included the front game of Match Game with the Pyramid Winner’s Circle as a bonus round.

For Newlywed, I think you only have to make sure the offstage players can’t hear the questions and answers in the prediction rounds. The rest is low-tech. Funday Pawpet Show has done Newlywed in studio, so check their archive for ideas.

After a previous thread here on con game shows, I have been running with the idea of adapting Body Language for con play. Cons already have Fursuit Charades/Charades: Impossible, so Furry Language is just another way to skin the proverbial cat.

Jeez, I didn't know my Baggage idea was THAT bad!

In the three years since this thread began, a number of formats have seen what I think was their first furry con adaptation, including:

  • The Price Is Right
  • Password (Plus/Super)
  • Pyramid
  • Jeopardy!
  • Wheel of Fortune
  • Catch Phrase
  • Press Your Luck
  • Jackbox formats like Quiplash and Fibbage

Body Language has done okay for a rather obscure format. Consistently small attendance, but never lacking for players . . . and we’ve had some sharp ones recently.

There’s one thing I’ve observed while writing material, and maybe others putting on games can relate. When I started writing the puzzles I thought it would be tough to come up with enough to play five or six games. Well, after over 200 Body Language puzzles and 700 Card Sharks survey questions I have learned to never say that the furry well has run dry.
