Traveling to Pittsburgh: Directions, shuttle info and more!

Whether you are traveling to Pittsburgh by plane, train, automobile, or boat(!), we have you covered. Directions on how to make it to Pittsburgh by all of these methods of transportation are on our website at:

http://www.anthrocon.org/travel

Parking in Pittsburgh

Parking is one thing that Pittsburgh has no shortage of. In addition to parking garages for both the Westin Hotel and Convention Center, there are outdoor lots with rates as low as $5 per day!

I-376 Outbound closure from 8 PM on Friday to 6 AM on Monday

Just a note for anyone will be leaving Anthrocon between 8 PM on Friday the 6th and 6 AM on Monday the 9th of July, I-376 East Outbound from Pittsburgh will be closed.

If you are traveling to Anthrocon during that time frame, you will not be affected!

More information, including a link to the official announcement and a PDF of the proposed detour can be found in our forums at: http://www.anthrocon.org/node/1238

Want to volunteer?

Would you like to help make Anthrocon 2007 a success? We have numerous volunteer opportunities available! The full list can be found on our website:

http://www.anthrocon.org/volunteer

Volunteers who contribute 10 hours get a free Anthrocon t-shirt. If you volunteer 15 hours or more, you get free membership to Anthrocon 2008. Any hours that are worked on Wednesday, early Thursday, late Sunday, or Monday count double!

Never been to Anthrocon before?

If you have never attended Anthrocon before, we have a special section of our website just for you. It contains links to essential documents that offer advice on what to pack, tips if you are on a strict budget, and how to get the most out of the convention.

Programming schedule and hours are now available

The Anthrocon programming schedule and hours are posted and available for download on our website:

http://www.anthrocon.org/schedule

All attendees will receive printed copies of the same material with their membership as well.

Meeting your friends at the con

Since Anthrocon is spread over such a large venue, it can be a challenge to meet up with your friends. We do NOT recommend that people meet in the lobby of the Westin due to the amount of traffic that flows through that area. Here are some alternative meeting locations:

The Zoo

Allegheny Ballrooms II and III, 3rd floor of the Westin. Can also be a bit crowded!
The Sitting Room

A nice little alcove outside of the restaurant on the 2nd floor of the Westin.
The West Corner of the Park

Outdoor turfed patio, 3rd floor of the Convention Center near the Spirit of Pittsburgh Ballroom (aka the "South Terrace"). There is an indoor sitting area adjacent to it, as well.
Noresco Riverside Terrace

Outdoor terrace overlooking the river, 3rd floor of the Convention Center.
North Terrace

4th floor of the Convention Center (with the amazing blue scrolling novel!)

Lose something? Have questions or concerns during the convention?

The staff in the Anthrocon Operations Office are here to help! They provide Lost and Found services, can answer any questions about the convention or the surrounding area, and address any questions or concerns you may have about the convention itself. The Operations Office will be open at Noon on Wednesday and remain open 24/7 until Monday morning. It can be found in the Crawford Room, next to the elevators on the Third Floor of The Westin.
